There is hope for a floundering Steelers team if they can follow the blueprints of two other crummy defenses that went on to win Super Bowls — the 2011 New York Giants and the 2006 Indianapolis Colts.
But their offense is going to have to step it up. They reached their weekly goal of scoring 30 points against Dallas last Sunday and it still was not enough. Perhaps that goal should be raised, or at least reached more consistently.
“We scored 30 points, but we know that we are quite capable of scoring 38-40 points,” said coordinator Todd Haley.
