The cuts have already started for some big-name players around the NFL as the preseason has officially begun.
To kick off the cuts, the New England Patriots released former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. The former second-round pick caught just 29 passes last season, and looked dreadful in the Patriots’ preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers.
Before anyone points and says the Steelers should bring Smith-Schuster back into the fold, no they shouldn’t. He was buried on the Patriots’ depth chart for a reason - he’s not good. And while the Steelers have multiple up-in-the-air receivers on their depth chart, why add another?
