Despite bringing you news of positive meetings between the NFL and the NFLPA last week, it appears that both sides in the negotiation are intent on playing out much of their drama in the public eye over the coming 18 months.
Within hours of a New York Times report detailing productive discussions, reports began to emerge of an email sent out by the players union advising all members to save money in preparation of a potential work stoppage in 2021. A reminder of a similar warning they had given to players the year before and one that just happened to wind up in the hands of the media.
