NFLPA looking to get rid of OTAs

It’s late May, which means several teams have begun the organized team activity portion of the offseason ahead of mandatory minicamp. Once minicamp is complete, players will be home for a month before training camp, and the new season, truly begins.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, though, this could be the last season of OTAs being part of NFL offseason programs.

The NFL Players Association is working to finalize a proposal to overhaul the offseason starting as soon as 2025, per Pelissero. This would eliminate any voluntary on-field work during the spring. Instead, players would opt for longer training camps.
