The NFL is doing everything I can to hold the 2020 season amid the COVID-19 crisis. With the league and the NFLPA coming to an agreement last week on procedures to move forward with NFL training camps and the entirety of the season, one possibility for players is to opt out of the season altogether.
It’s unclear at this time how many players will choose to skip out on the season for 2020. Players who do so can earn $150,000 and will have their contract obligations simply pushed to the next year if they are not deemed to be in a high-risk category.
