It looks as though the NFL is coming to its senses on policing touchdown celebrations. If you were hoping that meant Steelers receiver Antonio Brown’s dances might not result in any more flags or fines, though, you’re in for a disappointment.
In a memo released Tuesday afternoon, commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the league is relaxing its rules on what players can and can’t do to celebrate a touchdown. Group demonstrations, going to the ground, and using the ball as a prop are now allowed.
Goodell said the changes came after the league met with more than 80 current and former players.
