An NFL celebrity known for his broadcasting abilities and prowess on the football field died at his home on Sunday.
Frank Gifford, Giants Hall of Fame RB/WR and legendary broadcaster of Monday Night Football Fame, has passed away at the age of 84.
Frank Gifford began his football career during an era when Major League Baseball was a more integral part of American culture than professional football. As professional football began to make its way into American homes via broadcast television, Gifford's career was taking off, eventually including five Eastern Conference titles and an NFL championship.
After his days on the field came to an end in 1964, Gifford launched a successful career in broadcasting, becoming a staple on Monday Night Football along with the late Howard Cosell and Don Meredith.
