In Cleveland Wednesday, rookie Myles Garrett reiterated his promise to chop down Ben Roethlisberger after the Browns made the defensive end the first pick in this year’s draft.
And then, Garrett was the first to go down before he ever got that chance.
Garrett will apparently have to wait to get his shot at Roethlisberger. He injured his ankle in practice Wednesday, was scheduled for an MRI and the Browns were braced for him to miss more than the season opener against the Steelers Sunday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
So the prized defensive end won’t be able to back up this comment he uttered shortly after the Browns drafted him this spring:
“Big Ben is a Super Bowl winner and I heard he’s hard to take down,” Garrett said then.
