Mike Williams Wanted To Show Russell Wilson (And Maybe His Old QB) He Can Be Trusted On Game-Winning TD Catch

Part of the reason WR Mike Williams is with the Steelers is because Aaron Rodgers lost trust in him, and Russell Wilson is not the type of quarterback who requires such a repetitively evidence-based trust. The veteran wide receiver seemed to hint at that yesterday in an Instagram post that subtly referenced public criticism from Rodgers on a play that resulted in an interception.

While Williams took responsibility for the mistake, running an in-breaking route when Rodgers expected him to stay vertical, that was sort of the beginning of the end of their working relationship. They eventually traded for Davante Adams, and now Williams is building trust with Russell Wilson.
