Often, when one thinks about the Pittsburgh Steelers era of 2014-2017, their mind goes directly to the offensive side of the ball. At the time, that side of the ball was filled with star-caliber players at almost every position, including WR Antonio Brown, RB Le’Veon Bell, QB Ben Roethlisberger, and C Maurkice Pouncey. The defensive side of the ball was where the problems were more visible and was at fault for many of their downfalls throughout those years.
However, one mainstay on defense who perhaps embodied classic “Steelers Football” more than anyone else, was FS Mike Mitchell. After his tenure with Pittsburgh was finished, he played for the Indianapolis Colts for one year then retired.
