It’s becoming less and less rare for the Pittsburgh Steelers to give bigger contracts in free agency to guys they didn’t draft. Once upon a time, the Steelers would simply pay their own guys and use the draft to beef up their roster. The NFL is a different world now though, and it’s becoming harder and harder to win without the use of free agency. Patrick Queen is the latest, and perhaps biggest, name the Steelers have signed out of free agency in recent years, and it seems that isn’t a deal Mike Tomlin is regretting at all so far.
