At least from the outside looking in, the Pittsburgh Steelers are not generally regarded as being among the more elusive organizations. It often seems as though their targets in the draft are obvious, especially in the first round, with owner Art Rooney II admitting a couple years ago that they were concerned their intention to draft running back Najee Harris was too well broadcast.
Yet head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters yesterday that he’s learned over the years to dabble in subterfuge here and there. Asked about the importance of tape evaluation and if poor tape would mean that he wouldn’t go meet a prospect, he said with a smile, “I may, because you guys might be tracking my movements”.
