Metcalf thrilled to be Steeler, not worried over QB situation

PITTSBURGH -- Wide receiver DK Metcalf said he was "ecstatic" when he got word Sunday night that he would soon be a Pittsburgh Steeler.

The former Seattle Seahawks second-round pick, whom Pittsburgh acquired along with a 2025 sixth-round pick in exchange for 2025 second-round and seventh-round picks, said Thursday he immediately felt welcomed by the organization as the trade unfolded earlier this week.

"Coach [Mike] Tomlin, Mr. Omar [Khan] and Mr. [Art] Rooney all hopped on the phone with me Sunday, and it just felt homey, felt welcoming that they wanted to bring me to this historic organization," Metcalf said at his introductory news conference.
