The Steelers' coaching staff has undergone some changes throughout the offseason. And now, Mike Tomlin is promoting from within.
Denzel Martin has been promoted to outside linebackers coach, the team announced Monday. He had previously served as assistant outside linebackers coach since the 2020 season.
Martin has served as part of Tomlin's staff for eight years, and has been earning more and more roles over time. After joining the team as a scouting intern in 2016, Martin was promoted to defensive coaching assistant in 2018. In that role, he assisted with the unit's middle linebackers, then handled the daily operations for defense and worked with the team's defensive line and outside linebackers in 2019.
