The Pittsburgh Steelers had to make room on their roster after Le’Veon Bell signed his franchise tag tender, and thanks to the NFL giving the team a two week grace period to activate him to the active roster, they were able to create the space necessary to accomodate him.
The team did just that, a day before the team’s Week 1 game vs. the Cleveland Browns.
Steven Johnson, who was released and then signed again after the team cut their roster from 90 to 53, was released from the team again.
