A pair of Pittsburgh Steelers greats have advanced to the next round of consideration for the 2025 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame as seniors. DE L.C. Greenwood and LB Andy Russell are among the 60 senior players that have advanced, per an announcement by the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
To be eligible in the seniors category, a player must have ended their career before the 2000 season. There were initially 182 nominees, and a selection process with the Seniors Screening Committee casted ballots for 50 players. Any player who tied for 50th remains in the running, which is why there are 60 in total.
