Steelers rookie receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster planned to go home Wednesday after practice and play some video games to celebrate his 21st birthday. Smith-Schuster wasn’t in the celebratory mood after missing practice due to a hamstring injury.
Smith-Schuster would miss his first game of the season Sunday if he’s not able to play against the Packers.
“It’s coming along great,” Smith-Schuster said of the injury.
When asked if he was optimistic about playing he said: “That’s up to coach Tomlin.”
There is more reason to be optimistic about the return of free safety Mike Mitchell. He went through a full practice Wednesday after missing the Tennessee game with an ankle injury.
