The most fundamental reality, if not a universal one, in the NFL is that a team’s ceiling is its quarterback’s ceiling. Generally speaking, you’re only going to go as far as the man under center can take you. The simple fact is that there will be times that you need that position to make the difference, and most teams don’t have that guy who can do that routinely.
Part of that ceiling has to be the offense around him, from the run blocking to the play calling and everything else. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, they had better hope that they are nowhere near their ceiling just yet, because they are one of the worst offenses in the league through three weeks.
