Former Steelers linebacker James Harrison is signing with the Patriots, a source confirmed to the Post-Gazette on Tuesday afternoon.
Harrison visited with the Patriots on Tuesday and will sign a contract. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
The Steelers released Harrison Saturday in order to make room for offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert, who was returning to the 53-man roster after a four-game suspension. Harrison cleared through waivers Monday.
Harrison is the Steelers’ all-time sacks leader, but he was not involved much with the defense this season. He played only 40 snaps through 14 games.
