James Daniels Says Steelers Informed Him They Won’t Extend His Contract

Pittsburgh Steelers G James Daniels claims that the team does not intend to extend his contract. Entering the final year of his current deal, he told Mark Kaboly of The Athletic that he expects to play it out. This does not come as a great shock, given the clues throughout the offseason. Nevertheless, it is another starter they will likely have to replace in the near future.

Signed as a promising young 24-year-old following a four-year starting career with the Chicago Bears, Daniels was a priority signing. He will earn $8,250,000 this season to close out a three-year, $26,500,000 contract he signed in 2022.
