James Conner, Senquez Golson among seven Steelers injured in physical practice

LATROBE, Pa. -- The Pittsburgh Steelers’ first day in pads was felt in the training room.

Coach Mike Tomlin listed seven Steelers on his post-practice injury report Sunday, including rookie running back James Conner (shoulder), who participated in most of the practice and looked good doing so. Tomlin didn’t have specifics on Conner, who’s being evaluated.

Linebacker Vince Williams, safety Mike Mitchell, cornerback Senquez Golson and tight end Scott Orndoff suffered soft-tissue injuries that Tomlin attributed to fatigue or dehydration. The hope is these players miss only a few days, but Golson leaving on a cart after a non-contact injury seems especially troubling for the former second-round pick who hasn’t played an NFL down because of a torn labrum and a Lisfranc injury.
