The Steelers drafted a running back nearly two weeks ago and not one peep or tweet came from Le’Veon Bell.
Maybe that’s because no one has suggested they drafted N.C. State’s Jaylen Samuels to succeed Bell.
The Steelers, after all, waited until late in the fifth round, the 165th pick, to draft a running back even though there’s a chance Bell again will not report to them until six days before the regular season opener.
But the Steelers may see Samuels, like quarterback Mason Rudolph, as one big bargain draft pick. The rookie has some impressive credentials, not to mention Bell-like versatility.
