PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson heard from a few people about whether his cleats contributed to his Aug. 1 Lisfranc injury that required surgery.
Even Steelers guard Ramon Foster brought up the 'Lisfranc deal' when discussing improved technology as part of the player union's wish list for the 2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations with the NFL. Foster said cleat choices, particularly for offensive linemen, can be limited for players.
Golson, who has Nikes in his locker, admits he was wearing an "older model" of shoes when he got hurt, but he's not using equipment as an excuse for his absence from the lineup.
