Heyward dons NFL-given eye black, source says

KANSAS CITY -- Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward is wearing eye black that supports victims of cancer for the third straight week, but this message appears to be sanctioned by the NFL.

The eye black under Heyward's eyes says "Tackle" and "Cancer," which a source says Heyward grabbed before Pittsburgh's game vs. the Kansas City Chiefs because the league had made it available to players.

Heyward's "Iron" and "Head" eye black the previous two games was a violation of the NFL's uniform policy. Heyward was set to incur more than $17,000 in fines for honoring his father, former NFL fullback Craig "Ironhead" Heyward, who battled cancer before his 2006 death.
