As a result of the injury suffered Monday by Pittsburgh Steelers second-year cornerback Senquez Golson, rookie safety Sean Davis is now reportedly taking snaps with the first-team defense as the nickel slot defender.

Davis, who was drafted in the second round this year out of Maryland, played cornerback during his senior year after previously playing safety in previous seasons.
Davis taking reps at the slot corner position for the Steelers is not new, however, as he has been playing that position on the second-team since training camp got underway in addition to playing their some during the team’s offseason practices when Golson missed practice time with a soft tissue injury.
