You would presume there has to be a point somewhere, like right around here, where the totality of the injuries simply becomes too much with which to cope.
Not talking about the Steelers, specifically, although they’ve got their unfair share of injuries, I’m talking the totality, the crush of medical data the average sports fan or sports journalist deals with every day.
What would be the frightening percentage of our collective time, might you guess, spent absorbing or analyzing or in our case reporting on the relative severity and plausible implications of injuries? I don’t want to guess, frankly, because I’m pretty sure its embarrassingly excessive, even if it’s probably not our fault.
