BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Inside a dark and cavernous space somewhere within the sprawling Mall of America, adjacent to the long room where New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick had just taken 15 minutes worth of questions with the approximate enthusiasm of a man facing imminent colorectal surgery, Tom Brady and Danny Amendola sat facing each other maybe 30 yards apart.
They couldn’t see each other for the sea of cameras in the obligatory hype-a-palooza ramp up to the Sunday Super Bowl, and still you got a palpable feeling that had Brady whipped a football through that space that Amendola would somehow have grabbed it.
