From Steelers to semi-pro: Mortty Ivy still competes for the love of the game

Former Steelers linebacker Mortty Ivy last buckled up his chin strap in an NFL game more than five years ago. His brief NFL career consisted of six games, with all of them coming during the 2011 season. His final game was in Cleveland, a 13-9 Steelers victory on New Year’s Day 2012.

Ivy might be years removed from his professional football career, but he still buckles up that chin strap and pulls on his shoulder pads once a week to play football games. Only now instead of playing before 70,000 fans, he plays in front of maybe a hundred in high school venues across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
