The Pittsburgh Steelers were notoriously thin at the wide receiver position in 2024. After trading Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers, the Steelers failed to bring in another starting-caliber boundary wideout. This led to several dart-throw signings, such as Scotty Miller, Quez Watkins, and Van Jefferson.
Both Miller and Jefferson had been part of Super Bowl-winning teams, and Watkins was on the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster when they appeared in their first Super Bowl matchup with the Chiefs.
