Steelers cornerback Mike Hilton never wanted it to happen this way. No one wants to get an opportunity due to someone else’s misfortune, especially when that someone is a former college teammate and one of your closest friends on the team.
But when oft-injured corner Senquez Golson went down Sunday with a hamstring injury — his third significant injury in as many training camps — it was Hilton who stepped in as “next man up” for the Steelers.
