Mike Mitchell can be polarizing figure for the Steelers fan base. He has been a lightning rod for criticism when he misses a tackle such as the one earlier this month against the Ravens when receiver Mike Wallace stiff-armed him en route to a 95-yard touchdown. He’s also well-known for letting everyone in the stadium know when he makes a tackle whether it’s for a loss or a 20-yard gain. He struts, talks trash to the receivers and brings attention upon himself.
And then there at times such as Thursday night in Indianapolis when it’s clearly evident why the Steelers signed Mitchell to a $25 million contract in March 2014.
