The Steelers and Le’Veon Bell have been unable to come to a long-term contract since negotiations first began 14 months ago. It is reasonable to believe that another four months of batting around money figures between the sides will remain fruitless.
Therefore, the next time we see Le’Veon Bell should be Sept. 3, which is appropriately Labor Day. That is the Monday before the start of the regular season and the same time Bell reported to them and signed his contract last year.
Unlike last year, though, the Steelers cannot complain about Bell’s extended absence because they have bought into it, lock, stock and barrel.
