Say this about the Steelers: They are better today than they were at the end of the 2017 season.
By signing safety Morgan Burnett of Green Bay to a three-year contract on Tuesday and inside linebacker Jon Bostic of Indianapolis to a two-year deal on Monday, they helped fill the two biggest holes on their team.
Their first two free agent signings will not turn them into the Steel Curtain defense, but they are veterans who will take the pressure off at inside linebacker and safety, where the holes were as evident as a 45-42 playoff loss to Jacksonville.
