Dulac: Cole Holcomb ‘Not Anywhere Near’ Being Able To Play, Could Be Cut

It appears that veteran linebacker Cole Holcomb won’t be back anytime soon off of the Active/PUP list for the Pittsburgh Steelers at training camp in Latrobe at Saint Vincent College.

According to the Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac in his latest chat with readers on the Post-Gazette’s website, Holcomb is “not anywhere near” able to play right now, and could be placed on Injured Reserve, or be waived with an injury designation.

Asked by a reader if backup inside linebacker Mark Robinson could still make the team with Tyler Matakevich signed, Dulac stated it would be a bit tougher for Robinson, and then brought up Holcomb out of nowhere.
