When the Pittsburgh Steelers made the surprise move to trade for wide receiver DK Metcalf and sign him to a massive five-year, $150 million deal, the belief was that the move signaled the end for George Pickens in Pittsburgh, particularly for the 2025 season.
Steelers GM Omar Khan, while speaking to reporters Monday from the NFL owners meetings in Florida, stated that’s not the case and added he’s excited to see what Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson can do at receiver in 2025 along with Pickens with Metcalf around.
“You need more than one receiver in this league, and we’re fortunate we have George and Calvin and excited about what Roman’s going to be able to do for us,” Khan said when asked if the addition of Metcalf impacts Pickens, according to a tweet from The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo.
