It’s not that DeAngelo Williams doesn’t appreciate the season he is having with the Steelers. He is a starter on a playoff contender, on pace to gain 1,000 yards for the first time since the 2009 season. His 4.9 yards per carry average is among the best in the NFL.
It’s just that at the age of 32 statistics don’t matter all that much to him. The only number in his sights this season is 50 — as in Super Bowl 50.
“I’m at that point in my career you can put up all the numbers you want to, you can swing whatever statistic you want to swing, but it doesn’t matter if you don’t get to the Super Bowl and win it,” Williams said.
