MONTREAL -- The NHL on Monday announced its Three Stars of the Week for the opening week of the regular season, and the Penguins' captain holds the top spot.
Sidney Crosby was named the No. 1 star of the week ending on Oct. 16 for his six-point effort in the Penguins' first two games. He scored the Penguins' first goal and recorded two assists in the Penguins' 6-2 win over the Coyotes on Thursday, and then again scored the team's first goal and recorded two more assists in the Penguins' 6-2 win over the Lightning on Saturday.
