Chase Daniel Claims Steelers Made Offer To QB Sam Darnold

Prior to entering the legal tampering window in the NFL offseason, reports indicated that the Pittsburgh Steelers were preparing to make an offer to quarterback Sam Darnold.

Though Darnold ultimately signed with the Seattle Seahawks on a three-year, $100.5 million deal, the Steelers seemingly did make an offer to Darnold. At least, that’s what former NFL QB and current FS1 and The Athletic analyst Chase Daniel claimed on TV Tuesday morning.

Appearing on The Facility, Daniel stated that the Steelers offered Darnold a contract, but it wasn’t as much as Seattle’s. Along with the offer, Daniel also claims that Darnold preferred the Seattle offensive scheme under Klint Kubiak over the scheme in Pittsburgh with Arthur Smith.
