Carnell Lake done as Steelers defensive backs coach

Turns out the Steelers will wind up with some turnover on their defensive staff, after all.

Carnell Lake is leaving his job as the defensive backs coach, the team announced on Wednesday. Lake, a Steelers star in the 90s and a member of the coaching staff since 2011, said in a release that he has decided to return to California to be a part of his youngest son’s last year of high school football

“It has been a privilege and honor to play and coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Lake said, thanking Art Rooney II, Mike Tomlin, Kevin Colbert, the team’s staff and the players he coached.
