No, it wasn’t surprising that the Cincinnati Bengals ultimately upgraded the blindside protection for star quarterback Joe Burrow. What was rather shocking though was the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers were reportedly in on Brown Jr. in free agency, at least according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who reported via Brown’s agent Michael Portner last Wednesday that the Steelers — along with the New York Jets — were in on Brown Jr. before he signed a four-year, $64 million deal with the Bengals, with $31 million guaranteed.
