The former All-Pro is rated as Pro Football Focus' best offensive guard through seven weeks, the Pittsburgh Steelers just won back-to-back games by running the ball 80 times, and DeCastro just missed Wednesday's practice for the best reason:
The birth of his daughter, Brooke, on Wednesday night.
"Baby is healthy, mama is healthy," said DeCastro, 27. "Definitely changes your perspective."
DeCastro FaceTimed with left tackle Alejandro Villanueva from the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Several teammates jumped in for congratulations and friendly razzing about why they didn't get a personal FaceTime call.
