Maybe Mason Rudolph should bake Ben Roethlisberger a cake.
The Steelers’ starting quarterback practiced at Wednesday’s set of Organized Team Activities, the first time he’d gone on the field since sessions began on May 22. He said a family vacation, planned before the schedule was released, is what was keeping him away. OTAs always take place in late May and early June.
Roethlisberger’s trip, he said, provided “an awesome opportunity for the other quarterbacks to get reps.” Landry Jones appeared to get most of the first-team work, with Rudolph and Josh Dobbs behind him.
“I know those guys really enjoyed it, and they were thanking me for it,” Roethlisberger said.
