The Philadelphia 76ers guard and former Chartiers Valley standout told Dan Patrick in an interview Tuesday that he temporarily renounced his Steelers fandom in middle school because of an unpleasant interaction he had with the quarterback after asking for an autograph.

“I met Roethlisberger a while ago when I was little, but it wasn’t too good of an interaction,” McConnell said.
