Antonio Brown has never knelt in protest during the national anthem at a Steelers game, but he did use social media to send a message about the NFL’s new policy on standing for the song over Memorial Day weekend.
The receiver posted this photo of himself kneeling to his Instagram account Saturday.
Included with the picture was a caption that read: “Send the invoice to Christopher Johnson #JetsChairman #Respect #TakeAkneeOnIG #TagMe.”
That is an apparent reference to a comment by New York Jets chairman Christopher Johnson, who vowed not to issue team discipline to players who protest, even if the team is fined for such actions under the policy.
