BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Two’s company, three’s a crowd and then there are all the offensive linemen among the 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
There are five of them, fully one-third of all the modern candidates. And of those five, former Steelers guard Alan Faneca has the most impressive credentials.
So, a shoo-in, right? Except that’s not how things work when 46 people sift through all the information, debates and several votes that take most of Saturday to elect the next Hall of Fame class.
This is Faneca’s third year as a finalist, and he has yet to survive the vote from 15 to 10.
