The Steelers have never been a team that has been known for making splashy moves. They live by the philosophy of keeping their own players and making sure their veterans get paid.
The problem with this line of logic is that it only works if Pittsburgh isn’t missing on draft picks.
In recent years, general manager Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin have struck out on far too many picks. In 2013, the Steelers brass selected Georgia outside linebacker Jarvis Jones in the first round. He earned just 6.0 sacks in four seasons with Pittsburgh.
But he wasn’t the only draft pick to fall by the wayside.
