2020 NFL Draft Player Profiles: Washington TE Hunter Bryant

#1 Hunter Bryant/TE/6’2 239 lbs

The Good:

  • Very fluid athlete, moves well
  • Athleticism will make him a mismatch down the field
  • Smooth route runner
  • Lined up all across the formation (next to the formation, in the slot, out wide)
  • Contested catch winner
  • Shows good concentration when tracking the football
  • Excellent receiver, creates a ton of separation
  • Great burst off the line of scrimmage
  • Has YAC ability, bounces off tackles

The Bad:

  • Blocking is definitely an area that needs to be improved
  • Lacks strength to drive
  • Will not contribute much on running downs
  • Undersized, small frame
  • Has a few mental whiffs when blocking as well

Bio:

  • 2019: 52 receptions for 825 yards and three touchdowns
  • Career: 85 receptions for 1394 yards and five touchdowns
  • 2019 All-Pac-12 First Team selection
  • 2019 All-America First Team selection by The Athletic
  • 2019 All-America Honorable Mention by PFF
  • His 1394 receiving yards were the second most by a tight end in Washington history
  • Co-winner of Washington’s Outstanding Freshman Award during his freshman year
  • Forgoing his senior year to enter the 2020 NFL Draft
