From now until the 2019 NFL Draft takes place, we hope to showcase as many prospects as possible and examine both their strengths and weaknesses. Most of these profiles will feature individuals that the Pittsburgh Steelers are likely to have an interest in, while a few others will be top-ranked players. If there is a player you would like us to analyze, let us know in the comments below.
#8 Darrell Henderson /RB Memphis – 5’8” 208
The Good
- Acceleration – see the hole and hits it
- Runs behinds his pads and will lower shoulder into defender
- Good contact balance, able to absorb hits with natural pad level
- Vison on the 2nd level, sees opening and lanes very well to maximize yardage
- Has an extra gear to run defenders angles on the second level and has homerun ability
- Soft hands to catch the ball away from his body
The Bad
- Vision is spotty at the LOS misses some better gap options inside
- COD behind LOS; will take a few steps to gather before cuts on outside runs
- Limited routes in passing game
- Wasn’t asked to Pass Protect often
- Was given huge holes to run through; will he be able to create when it’s not there.
