In Steelers news today, veteran Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor may be looking for a new home this offseason.
According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Taylor, who has been with the Pittsburgh Steelers' organization for all 11 years of his career, would have to accept "a big pay cut" in order to remain a Steeler.
Dulac went on to say that this wouldn't necessarily come as a hit to the Pittsburgh Steelers talent-wise, as he labeled Ike Taylor as "not a good tackler, nor is he that physical.” Taylor would make $7 million in 2014, and cost the Pittsburgh Steelers $11.9 million against the cap if they were to retain his services.
While Ike Taylor has been a stalwart of the Pittsburgh Steelers secondary for over a decade, many analysts around the NFL believe his best days are behind him. According to Pro Football Focus, Taylor was the 97th best cornerback out of 110 qualifying cornerbacks in the league in 2013.
