From the Dominican Republic on Sunday, Starling Marte went 2-for-5 with his second double and second triple of the winter. He also scored two runs and picked up an RBI. Marte is hitting .212/.277/.353 through 23 games.
Nik Turley made his second start of the winter and was impressive over five shutout innings, allowing just one hit, with no walks and four strikeouts. He allowed one unearned run over three innings in his debut last week. The Pirates picked up Turley off of waivers on November 6th. Between the majors and minors with the Twins last year, the 28-year-old lefty made 16 starts and 17 relief appearances.
